A brewery engaged us to evaluate its sewer output and help reduce costs. We installed a rebate meter on the brewery’s sewer discharge pipe. We found that the brewery was being charged for their water and sewer based on the incoming water metering readings. The costs were high and further inflated by the landlord.
We installed two array type electromagnetic flow meters on the sewer effluent pipe and configured them with municipal approved registers so the sewer charges were calculated on the sewer flow and not the incoming water meter.
Our changes resulted in a 75% decrease in sewer costs and has saved the brewery hundreds of thousands of dollars over the past two decades.
