Steam Effluent Decontamination System Evaluation

A university biomedical and genomic research center contracted us to evaluate a Steam Effluent Decontamination System as they found safety issues during startup and commissioning.

Practical Applications performed a Control Hazard and Operability Study (CHAZOP) on the system and discovered that the system, as designed and installed, posed too many safety issues, and exhibited significant corrosion to all wetted parts. This study provided the client the data necessary to make the decision to scrap the system and move in a new direction.
